How long will it take to fit?
An average size domestic system takes about 3 days to install
What are my likely pay-backs?
This is hard to give a precise figure, but average figures are around 8-9 years. There are many changing factors, panel size, shading factor, direction of the system to the sun.
Do I get paid for feeding back to the national grid?
Yes you certainly will. You can be paid 0.21p per unit (price at 12th December 2011).  On a system size of 3.42kWp producing a yield of 2912 kWh unit, FIT over 25 years is likely to be £30,066. Plus you will be generating a lot of your own electricity too.
How do I get paid by the national grid?
You have to complete a FIT application with your energy supplier. They will pay you quarterly.
What size system can I have?
A 3.8kWp system will suit most domestic needs.  Larger systems can be installed for commercial and agricultural premises.
How much will it cost?
Based on a system size of 3.42kWp an average system can cost around £9,000.00
Is there any disruption to my energy supply whilst a system is being fitted?
Power supply will be turned off for no more than one hour whilst electrical testing is carried out.
What guarantee will I get?
Generally (they differ slightly) most panels have a sliding power output warranty of 25 years, and inverters carry a 5 year warranty as standard with option to increase. IDDEA Ltd offer 10 year warranty on workmanship.
